The late Pilahi Paki taught the essense of Hawaiian language. This book is centered on a reprint of an essay by one of her students that gives a glimpse of her teachings in a way any Zen student will find meaningful. In an Afterword, Shim Doshin Roshi describes the ties between Pilahi and Tanouye Roshi, and the ways in which he carried on her spiritual lineage.
