Introduction to Zazen (seated meditation)
Description: Are you new (or returning) to meditation and want to learn the fundamentals? This two-hour “crash course” will introduce you to the Madison Zen Dojo’s style of seated meditation. You will learn:
the physical fundamentals: how to sit, what to do with your hands, your breath, and your attention
what to do when distractions arise (because they will)
responses to students’ most often asked questions
When: This course is offered the following Sundays in Fall 2019 from 7-9 pm.
September: 8, 22
October: 6, 20
November: 3, 17
** Classes start promptly at 7 pm; we recommend you arrive by 6:50 pm.
What to bring: Yourself! Cushions and materials are provided.
Donations: The Dojo is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization powered by contributions. Participants are encouraged to leave a donation of $10-20 for the class.
